1931 Wide Bed Pickup

From start to finish

In May 2006, I found a cache of Model “A” stuff which was supposed to be a 31 Wide Bed Pickup in fair to good condition.  WOW!In June 2006, I decided to go ahead and buy it with the thoughts of spending 6 to 9 Months getting it all back together- WRONG!

We hauled the STUFF to my place with a couple of trips of 2 pickups and one trailer.

In early 2007 I eventually gave in and had an additional 2 car garage/shop built to start to work on the newly found jewel. Of course I was sure I would have enough room as it was something I did not have before and who would ever think that just an older couple with a 5 car garage and shop, plus a couple of storage buildings and two 10 X 20 Canopies would ever run out of space to store their cars and some extra parts. Yep, that is exactly what happened – not enough space.

Of course I could not put my 29 Fordor outside and Sabina was definitely going to give up her garage spot so I had to purchase a couple of temporary storage units (Canvass Covers). They both filled up quite fast and I had a couple of storage sheds so I stuffed a lot of the stuff in them.

Anyway we will start the pictures with “Where it all began” as some of these pictures are also on my Web Site under “Honey, Look what followed me home today” then we will show some pictures of the Pickup as to where it is today. I still have a long way to go on it but I was just notified that my rear fenders are ready for their final coat of Paint. Then comes the other black sheet metal and hopefully by the time that is finished the Cab and Box will be ready (lots of work still to go on those items). My door alignment is currently giving me a problem as they are just not correct and seem to bind when closing. I am sure it will all work out in time and with a lot of help. Just everybody keep their fingers crossed for me.
